In this five-day workshop students will make a set of essential bench tools. Students will learn to hone their skills working at anvil by forging parts to precise dimensions. Moving to the bench the forgings will then be refined and embellished using a variety of filing techniques before being heat-treated, handled, and finished. Some of the tools covered in this class will include a center punch, scribe, bench hammer, and a simple pair of riveted dividers. A strong emphasis will be put on making aesthetically pleasing tools that function to the best of their ability.
