In this workshop students will be forging a heavy duty survival knife for the camp or field. Students will be forging an 8-9 inch knife suitable for chopping or batoning. These knives will feature a forged integral finger guard for comfort and safety. Of full tang construction, composite handles of the students choosing will be attached with rivets. Students should expect to complete one knife in this 4 day class.

While this is a beginner class and students with no experience are welcome, this type of knife involves a lot of forging and can feel a little like “work”. The results are very rewarding though. Learn to make a heavy duty knife that you or your customers can stake their lives on.
