Charles Orlando

Charles Orlando started forging in 1978 as a farrier. Over the past 20 years he has eagerly pursued studying with dozens of master smiths from around the country. He has been teaching blacksmithing since 1989 starting at the John C. Campbell Folk School and now routinely at the various schools around the country. While operating his own studio he has demonstrated at two different ABANA conferences and been the conference coordinator for the 90 and 96 conferences. His work is mostly custom and architectural in nature. Railings, grills, tables, hardware and interior work, using a combination of contemporary and traditional processes.
