FCAW/Fluxcore Flux Cored Arc Welding

FCAW / Fluxcore      Flux Cored Arc Welding

FCAW is a semi-automatic process that utilizes a continuously fed, tubular, flux-filled electrode to create the arc. Some fluxcore wires are self-shielded and produce their own shielding gas as the electrode is consumed. Others require an externally supplied shielding gas to work properly. FCAW is a structural process for heavy weldments found in shipbuilding, construction, and fabrication operations.
